"Taekwondo Poom and Dan Certificates Now on Smartphones"... RaonSecure Supplies 'OmniOne Digital ID' to Kukkiwon
A digital identity verification system has been introduced, allowing users to check and authenticate Kukkiwon Taekwondo Poom and Dan certificates, as well as various qualification certificates, via smartphone.
RaonSecure, an AI security and authentication platform company, announced on the 14th that it has recently completed the establishment of the "Kukkiwon Digital ID" system, which operates Kukkiwon's Taekwondo Poom and Dan certificates and qualification certificates in a digital format. Through this, Kukkiwon has secured an authentication infrastructure that enables digital management and operation of Taekwondo-related qualification verifications.
With this project, a total of 27 types of certificates—including 13 types of Poom and Dan certificates previously issued as paper or plastic cards and 14 types of certificates from the World Taekwondo Academy—have been converted to a mobile-based digital identity verification method. Users can present and verify their credentials through the "Kukkiwon Digital ID" application installed on their smartphones, and authentication is possible anywhere, both online and offline, using QR codes.
Previously, it was difficult to immediately check whether physical certificates were forged or altered, as they served mainly as a means of storage. However, the new system improves reliability by incorporating blockchain-based anti-tampering technology and real-time validity verification. In addition, personal information is managed using a Decentralized Identity (DID) system, further enhancing security and safety.
This project applied RaonSecure's blockchain-based identity and qualification authentication platform "OmniOne Digital ID." This technology is also used in the national mobile identification issuance system operated for 45 million people in Korea and supports all processes from issuance and storage to submission of digital IDs.
RaonSecure is currently expanding the application of OmniOne Digital ID to various sectors, including universities, secondary schools, sports, healthcare, and associations. With the Kukkiwon project, the company has further extended its reach into the sports sector. Industry experts note that this platform demonstrates versatility applicable to a wide range of industries.
The company plans to continue collaborating with Kukkiwon to further advance the administrative system for Taekwondo qualifications. It also intends to expand the application of OmniOne Digital ID to various issuing authorities, including national and private qualifications.
Kukkiwon also plans to use this digital authentication system as an opportunity to expand the application of digital services across all Taekwondo administration and enhance efficiency in qualification management.
Junga Lee, CEO of RaonSecure, stated, "This project is an example of expanding the scope of Web3-based digital authentication services," adding, "We will continue to collaborate with various organizations and companies to ensure that digital authentication contributes to convenience and service innovation in everyday life."
