Paju City Compiles Voter List of 449,244 for 9th Local Elections

Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that, following the compilation of the voter list for the 9th Nationwide Local Elections, the number of registered voters increased by approximately 45,000 compared to the 8th local elections, reaching a total of 449,244.
This voter list for Paju City has been prepared for eligible voters who are at least 18 years old and registered as residents, including foreigners who have held their residency status for more than three years, with the cutoff date being June 4, 2008, or earlier. The voter list will be open for public viewing and objections from May 17 to May 19, and applications for inclusion of any omitted voters will be accepted from May 20 to May 21. The final voter list is scheduled to be confirmed on May 22.
Voters who move into Paju and file a change of address after the cutoff date of May 13 must vote at their previous address. However, during the early voting period on May 29 and May 30, they can participate in early voting at any location nationwide.

Yoon Juhyun, Head of the Division of Local Autonomy and Cooperation, stated, "Paju City will increase the number of polling stations from the existing 134 to 141 by adding seven more locations. We will also launch the 'Find My Polling Station Service' starting May 23." He added, "As the number of voters continues to rise, we will do our utmost to support the election process so that citizens can vote in a more convenient and comfortable environment."
