Masan Happo District Sees a Wave of Donations Embracing Neighbors as Family
Seo Hogwan: "All Residents Are Family; We Will Make Masan Happo District Warmer Through a Virtuous Cycle of Giving"
Masan Happo District in Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, is filled with a spirit of warmth and generosity toward neighbors.
During this period, as people reflect on the meaning of 'family' after Children's Day and Parents' Day, a wave of donations continues in Masan Happo District, embracing neighbors as extended family members and resonating deeply within the local community.

This enthusiasm for sharing in Masan Happo District has been building since the end of April. The Onsarang Sponsorship Association opened the door to giving by pledging a 'Healthy Growth Support Fund' for local children from low-income families, aiming to support their healthy development.
Through this sponsorship, the children selected for the program will receive a monthly allowance of 100,000 won for the next year. This is not just a one-time grant but serves as a solid foundation for the children to plan for a stable future.
The outpouring of warmth grew even stronger in May. On May 7, Monk Kim Junghwan of Cheongnyangsa Temple generously donated 5 million won to support the dreams of disadvantaged children and adolescents. This was followed by active participation from the arts and business sectors: on May 10, the Gyeongnam chapter of the K-Trot Cultural Arts Group donated 30 boxes of ramen, and on May 11, the Jinbuk Industrial Complex Companies Council contributed 3 million won in cash, while the Goun Nanum Foundation delivered 150 sets of beef bone soup for seniors, deepening the culture of giving.
The spirit of giving continued unabated on May 12. The Changwon Saemaul Association donated 3 million won to the Seed Savings Account program to help children build assets, and Kim Jongman, CEO of Myeongseong General Electric Construction, also contributed 5 million won, providing strong support for children from low-income families.

Seo Hogwan, head of the district office, stated, "May is a time when we need to pay even closer attention to our marginalized neighbors. The heartfelt contributions from all walks of life are coming together to bind Masan Happo District into one large 'family.' We will do our best to ensure that this culture of sharing becomes firmly rooted as a healthy tradition in the community rather than remaining a one-time gesture."
