LA City Council Recognizes 'K-Expo USA' as an Official City Event

View original imageThe Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on May 11 that the Los Angeles City Council has officially recognized 'K-Expo USA' as a city event. At the declaration ceremony held in the main chamber of LA City Hall, the council passed a resolution and awarded an official certificate.
The ceremony was co-hosted by John Lee, LA City Council member, and Steve Kang, Chair of the LA Board of Public Works. Key Korean and American officials were also in attendance, including representatives from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles, the Korean Cultural Center, the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.
Previously, the production team of the Netflix series 'Squid Game' received this certificate from the City of LA. Football player Son Heung-min was also awarded an honorary citizenship certificate.
'K-Expo USA' will be held in LA for three days starting May 23. Approximately 130 content companies and around 150 overseas buyers are expected to participate. Five ministries and six organizations will join the event, which will cover dramas, animation, games, webtoons, food, cosmetics, and more. The expo will feature exhibitions, interactive experiences, and export consultations.

The K-pop concert lineup includes Jay Park, P1Harmony, and Longshot. Netflix will display the domestic production process and major works of Korean visual content, and the Korea Football Association will operate a national team experience booth.
