NH-Amundi Asset Management to List HANARO US AI Memory Semiconductor TOP4+ ETF
NH-Amundi Asset Management announced on May 11 that it will list the "HANARO US AI Memory Semiconductor TOP4+" Exchange Traded Fund (ETF), which focuses on investment in US memory semiconductor companies, on May 12.
This ETF is designed to invest primarily in four leading US companies that drive the memory and storage sectors, which are essential infrastructures for AI computation and data storage. The main holdings are Micron, SanDisk, Western Digital, and Seagate, and these four companies make up approximately 60% of the total portfolio. In addition, the ETF includes companies involved in processes and equipment that are essential for memory semiconductor production.
Looking at each stock, Micron is the only memory manufacturer based in the United States and serves as a key supplier in the high bandwidth memory (HBM) and server DRAM markets. SanDisk is expected to benefit from increasing demand for high-capacity NAND flash driven by the expansion of cloud infrastructure. Seagate and Western Digital are regarded as direct beneficiaries of the large-capacity hard disk drive (HDD) market for data centers, which is growing in response to the explosion of data.
Industry experts observe that AI infrastructure investment is shifting rapidly from a focus on graphic processing units (GPUs) to an expansion in memory demand. The memory semiconductor market is characterized by high technical barriers, resulting in an oligopoly dominated by a few companies, and supply is barely keeping up with demand. In particular, global big tech companies are prioritizing products from top-tier companies with proven performance, suggesting that the earnings improvement for these companies is likely to continue for some time.
