U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold a summit in Beijing, China, on May 14-15.
Anna Kelly, Deputy White House Press Secretary, announced on the 10th (local time) that President Trump’s itinerary in China has been released, and the two leaders are scheduled to meet in Beijing over two days.
President Trump will arrive in Beijing on the evening of May 13, and on the 14th, he is scheduled to attend a welcoming ceremony, hold bilateral talks, and attend a state dinner. On the same day, President Trump and President Xi will tour Tiantan Park, a renowned site in Beijing, and then attend the state dinner together. According to the White House, before leaving China on the 15th, the two presidents will have tea and a working lunch.
The main agenda items for this summit are expected to include trade and investment, rare earth elements, semiconductor export controls, and the Taiwan issue. Foreign media outlets anticipate that the two leaders will discuss sensitive issues such as the Iran war, trade, and Taiwan.
Deputy Press Secretary Kelly stated, "Under President Trump's leadership, this summit aims to advance the safety, security, and prosperity of the American people," and added, "President Trump and President Xi will approach today's economic and security realities with a clear-eyed perspective as they pursue these objectives."

President Trump's visit to China will be the first in about eight years and six months since November 2017, during his first term in office. The two leaders' in-person summit comes approximately six months after their last meeting, which took place during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Korea in October of last year.
