Trump: "Iran Has Been Playing Games with the U.S. for 47 Years"
U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning message toward Iran.
On the 10th (local time), President Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, stating, "Iran has been playing games with the United States and the rest of the world for 47 years," and added, "They have delayed, delayed, and delayed again." He further warned, "They won’t be laughing anymore."
This statement came after Iran's state-run IRNA news agency reported that Iran had delivered its response to the U.S. ceasefire proposal through Pakistan. However, President Trump did not specify whether he had reviewed the response himself.
President Trump also targeted former President Barack Obama, criticizing the Obama administration for promoting the Iran nuclear deal and claiming that Iran had "hit the jackpot" at that time. This appears to reference the 2016 incident when the Obama administration paid Iran $400 million in cash.

At the time, the U.S. explained that the payment was part of a settlement to resolve a longstanding dispute over an arms deal that was agreed upon before the 1979 Iranian Revolution but never fulfilled. However, since the payment coincided with the release of Americans detained in Iran, there was controversy among Republicans, who referred to it as a "ransom."
