The 2nd Comprehensive Special Investigation Team has imposed a one-month salary reduction as disciplinary action on a special investigator who posted a photo of an investigation-related statement and personal reflections on their personal social media account.

View original imageOn May 4, during a regular briefing at the special prosecutor's office in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, the team stated, "It was reported that a special investigator posted investigation-related photos and personal reflections on social media." They continued, "A disciplinary committee was convened, and after conducting a fact-finding investigation and hearing the individual's statement, a decision was made to impose a one-month salary reduction as disciplinary action."
Regarding the use of social media, the team added, "We have previously announced that social media use should be refrained from as much as possible, and we continue to issue internal security notices. We will take this opportunity to emphasize this policy once again."
Through a separate investigation, the team also confirmed circumstances indicating that the Defense Counterintelligence Command of the Republic of Korea Army had been preparing for martial law since the first half of 2024. The 2nd Comprehensive Special Investigation Team has been investigating the steps taken by former President Yoon Suk-yeol and former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun to mobilize the military during the preparations for the December 3, 2024 12·3 Martial Law.
