According to the agreement, the Gangwon Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation will support the revitalization of Gangwon tourism by utilizing promotional infrastructure within expressway rest areas. The Gangwon Tourism Foundation will be responsible for developing local tourism content as well as rest area-based promotional marketing and the production of promotional materials. In addition, the Gangwon Rest Area Facilities Association will enhance visitor convenience by providing tourism information infrastructure and service operations within rest areas.
In particular, by utilizing expressway rest areas as "tourism hub platforms" that go beyond simple resting spaces, the agreement is expected to strengthen tourism promotion linked to the "2025-2026 Visit Gangwon Years" and provide more diverse tourism information and content to visitors to Gangwon in an effective manner.
