NH NongHyup Bank Signs K-Taxonomy-Based Evaluation Business Agreement with Korea Technology Finance Corporation
Strengthening Mutual Cooperation in Green Loans and Transition Finance
On April 27, NH NongHyup Bank announced that it had signed a "K-Taxonomy-Based Evaluation Project Business Agreement for Fostering and Supporting Green Enterprises" with the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, aiming to strengthen mutual cooperation in the fields of green loans and transition finance for climate change response.
NH NongHyup Bank explained that the agreement was established to build a close collaborative system between the two organizations and to foster and support outstanding companies in the climate and environment sector by utilizing evaluation results based on the K-Taxonomy.
Under this agreement, NH NongHyup Bank will guide eligible companies on how to apply for K-Taxonomy-based evaluations, provide company information required for the evaluation, and support document submission. Korea Technology Finance Corporation will be responsible for conducting the evaluation and preparing and providing an evaluation report reflecting the results.
Financial authorities are providing clear criteria for green economic activities through K-Taxonomy guidelines. In addition, they are encouraging increased capital inflow into the green sector through green loan management guidelines and transition finance guidelines.
NH NongHyup Bank has established a foundation to support a wider range of companies, extending beyond the existing green loan support framework to include transition finance target enterprises, in line with the policy direction of the financial authorities. The bank also plans to enhance objectivity and practical utility in its assessments by collaborating with external expert organizations, thereby increasing the practical application in the field.
