City Adds to "Top Three Flavors of Daejeon" List
Sutgol Naengmyeon, Freshwater Spicy Fish Stew, Gujeuk Acorn Jelly Among Selections
Daejeon City has designated eight dishes as the “Eight Foods Loved by Daejeon Citizens,” including Gukbap (rice soup), Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), Dolsotbap (hot stone pot rice), Seolleongtang (ox bone soup), Sutgol Naengmyeon (cold noodles), Daecheongho Freshwater Spicy Fish Stew, and Gujeuk Acorn Jelly.
The city recently added these “Eight Foods Loved by Daejeon Citizens” to reflect the results of a citizen preference survey, following its earlier “Top Three Flavors of Daejeon” selection. This initiative aims to widely share information about the region’s food culture with both citizens and tourists.
Going forward, the city plans to feature the “Eight Foods Loved by Daejeon Citizens” on its official website and in promotional content to broadly promote Daejeon's diverse food culture, and to actively utilize these dishes as resources for food tourism.
