Pirelli to Officially Launch 'Cinturato All Season SF3' in Korea in April
- Designed with Virtual Development technology, delivering excellent braking and control performance in diverse weather conditions
- Proven outstanding performance and technological competitiveness through various global tests
Pirelli announced on April 6 that it will officially launch its all-weather pattern tire, the "Cinturato All Season SF3," in the Korean market.
The Cinturato All Season SF3, which was released in the European market in 2024, is designed for drivers of mid-sized and compact vehicles who primarily drive in urban environments. The tire provides safe driving performance throughout all four seasons. Developed using Virtual Development technology, it boasts high braking and control performance across a range of weather conditions.
All sizes included in the product lineup have received the highest rating, Grade A, for wet grip according to the European Tire Energy Label standards. Another notable feature is the attachment of the 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake) certification mark, which verifies performance in severe winter conditions.
The tire inherits the adaptive tread technology using 3D sipes (micro grooves) from its predecessor and has further upgraded it to enhance snow traction throughout the tire's lifespan. As the tire wears, the shape of the sipes transforms from straight to zigzag, ensuring that even as tread depth decreases, the surface area holding onto snow increases.
The sipes open and close in response to energy transmitted inside the tire, enabling the tread to adapt from a winter pattern to a firmer and more densely packed summer pattern, depending on the situation. This design improves braking performance, road grip, and steering precision. Compared to the previous generation, the tire features wider drainage grooves and a sharply angled directional tread pattern, further enhancing driving performance. This also boosts water drainage capabilities, reducing the risk of hydroplaning. In addition, the land-sea ratio of the tread has been optimized to improve ride comfort.
This versatile performance has been verified by the German independent testing organization DEKRA. In DEKRA’s tests, the Cinturato All Season SF3 achieved best-in-class overall braking performance on dry, wet, and snowy surfaces. Furthermore, independent certification body T?V S?D awarded the tire the "Performance Mark" in recognition of its strong performance across various driving conditions.
The performance of the Cinturato All Season SF3 has also been confirmed through a variety of global tests. The tire has demonstrated outstanding performance on various surfaces, as well as exceptional stability in complex road conditions, including wet roads. It was selected as the "Best All Season Manufacturer of the Year" by the German automobile club AvD (Automobilclub von Deutschland) and the renowned automotive magazine AutoBild. Additionally, it received the highest score in the all-season tire comparison test conducted by the tire-specialized media outlet Tyre Reviews.
