[Report] "MapleStory" Steps Outside the Game... Meet It at Lotte World
Nexon Opens "Maple Island" at Lotte World
Permanent Attraction Launches on the 3rd
Featuring a Variety of Rides and Merchandise
Nexon's flagship intellectual property (IP), "MapleStory," has landed on the east side of Lotte World Adventure's "Magic Island." On April 1, Nexon held a media preview event for "Maple Island," a permanent themed area created in collaboration with Lotte World, two days ahead of its official opening.

Among the rides, three are new and are themed after popular in-game regions from "MapleStory," namely Henesys, Ludibrium, and Arcana.
"Stone Express" is a roller coaster with the concept of embarking on a journey to find scattered stone spirits, circling Maple Island twice and delivering a thrilling sense of speed. There is also a family-friendly ride themed after the "Spirit Tree," which appears in the game. When riding "Arcana Ride," visitors can enjoy songs performed by the spirits up close.
"Eos Tower," which rapidly ascends and descends, is inspired by the toy-themed tower in the game. At the highest point, riders can take in views of Seokchon Lake and the surrounding Maple Island area. The existing ride "Gyro Spin" has been renewed. Passengers can enjoy spinning around with Pink Bean, located at the center of the ride.

At "Maple Sweets," visitors can purchase desserts such as Pink Bean waffles modeled after the game character, as well as maple leaf potatoes and slushies. Merchandise can be purchased at the "Maple Store," where cute items inspired by the rides, including the "Eos Tower Drink Bottle" and the "Stone Express Pink Bean Keyring," are on display.
The "MapleStory" IP collaboration between Nexon and Lotte World began last month. Throughout Lotte World, guests can feel the festive atmosphere of the seasonal event "MapleStory in Lotte World," which will run until June 14. Indoors, there are experience zones and the photo zone "Find the Disappeared Pink Bean," where visitors can summon game characters or customize their own avatars. Outdoors, popular regions from the game have been recreated. In the evenings, a seasonal castle mapping show transforms the Magic Castle with a "MapleStory" theme.
A Nexon representative stated, "We made it possible for visitors to experience the MapleStory IP both online and offline," and added, "Starting at the end of this month, we plan to add MapleStory characters and dancers to the parade, as well as introduce a new photo time where guests can take pictures with popular characters."
