Through its participation in the lights-off event, Hanjin achieved a tangible result by reducing approximately 1 ton of carbon emissions.
This year, the Seongsu-dong headquarters of 'Hanjin Brion,' the professional esports team in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) sponsored by Hanjin, also joined the Earth Hour campaign. In line with Hanjin’s eco-friendly efforts, Hanjin Brion participated in the lights-off event at their office, raising awareness of the seriousness of the climate crisis and supporting the practice of carbon neutrality.
'Earth Hour' is a campaign organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the world's largest nonprofit nature conservation organization established in 1961. In order to prevent the destruction of nature and create a future where people and nature coexist harmoniously, the event has been held every year since 2007 on the last Saturday of March from 8:30 p.m. for one hour. This year marks the campaign’s meaningful 20th anniversary.
A Hanjin representative stated, "We deeply sympathize with the global challenge of climate change and joined the Earth Hour campaign again this year in solidarity with worldwide environmental protection efforts. We will continue to lead in carbon reduction and environmental protection, fulfilling our social responsibility as an eco-friendly logistics company working toward a sustainable future."
