A fisherman in his 70s who went to work at a seaweed farm off the coast of Haenam, Jeonnam, has gone missing, and the coast guard has launched a search.
According to the Wando Coast Guard on March 19, a report was received at around 6:10 p.m. that day that a man in his 70s, identified as Mr. A, had gone missing near Jingui Port in Hwangsan-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeonnam.

View original imageIt was determined that Mr. A had departed at around 1:00 p.m. that day to work at the seaweed farm. He was originally scheduled to return at around 3:00 p.m., but did not come back. Later, only the boat that Mr. A had taken out was found in the mudflats near the village.
Upon receiving the report, the Wando Coast Guard immediately dispatched patrol vessels and rescue personnel from the local station to the scene and is conducting an intensive search.
