Germany: "No Participation in Hormuz Military Operation"
The German government has stated that it will not participate in any form of military operation in the Strait of Hormuz.
On the 15th (local time), German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said in an interview with ARD that there is "no immediate necessity" regarding military operations in Hormuz, adding, "Above all, there is absolutely no need for Germany to participate."
Chancellor Friedrich Merz also drew a clear line on the issue of dispatching troops to the Strait of Hormuz, saying on the 12th, "There is no reason to protect the shipping routes militarily," and, "Germany is not a party to this war, and it will not be in the future."
