TheVentures Forms Partnership with Chinese AI Firm 'Z.ai' to Accelerate Global Expansion of Startups
Combining Acceleration Expertise with Chinese Technological Strength
Support with High-Performance Infrastructure Including GLM-5
The global early-stage investment venture capital firm TheVentures has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Z.ai to foster the global AI (artificial intelligence) startup ecosystem.
According to TheVentures on March 10, the agreement focuses on combining both companies' acceleration systems and technological infrastructure to jointly discover and nurture promising AI startups. Z.ai, which recently launched a dedicated support program for startups, plans to provide Korean startups with access to key AI infrastructure, including GLM-5, its latest large language model (LLM), to help them gain a technological edge.
Z.ai is one of China's six major unicorns in the generative AI sector, often referred to as the 'AI Six Dragons.' Based on core technology from Tsinghua University's AI Research Institute, Z.ai is leading the market in both academic expertise and commercialization speed. The company has attracted large-scale investments from global tech giants such as Alibaba and Tencent.
Through this partnership, the two companies will: ▲ grant domestic and international startups access to Z.ai's technology infrastructure and APIs (application programming interfaces) based on AI technology ▲ offer global scaling-up mentoring that combines TheVentures' incubation experience with Z.ai's technological strengths ▲ and establish a community to facilitate the exchange of technical information between startups in both countries.
Cheolwoo Kim, CEO of TheVentures, stated, "By leveraging Z.ai’s high-performance technology infrastructure such as GLM-5, we have created an environment where AI startups can rapidly advance." He added, "TheVentures will work closely with Z.ai to broaden the technological options for domestic AI startups and expand their access to the global market."
Roji Gong, the manager in charge of the startup ecosystem at Z.ai, said, "Z.ai values supporting competent Korean startups and developing the AI ecosystem together." She continued, "Through our collaboration with TheVentures, we will actively support early-stage companies so they can grow in line with global AI technology trends."
