Suncheon City announced that it will implement the "2026 Small Business Digital Transformation Support Project" to proactively respond to the changing consumer environment, including the expansion of online orders and the increase in non-face-to-face consumption.
The core of this project is to subsidize 80% of the installation costs, up to a maximum of 1 million won, for small business owners adopting smart devices such as kiosks, smart ordering systems, unmanned vending machines, and table ordering systems. Eligible recipients are small business owners operating in Suncheon City with annual sales of less than 1 billion won, and approximately 54 businesses are expected to benefit.
From the small business owners’ perspective, this initiative is highly anticipated as it can simultaneously reduce the burden of labor costs and improve order management efficiency. In particular, the support is expected to provide practical benefits for industries with high customer order volumes, such as restaurants and cafes, where demand for kiosks and table ordering systems continues to rise.
However, businesses that have received the same or similar support from the government or local governments within the past three years (2023–2025), or businesses excluded from small business policy fund loans, are not eligible to apply.
When installing a new kiosk, the revised standards under the Act on the Prohibition of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities will also apply. Businesses with a store area of 50 square meters or more must install barrier-free kiosks accessible to people with disabilities, while those with less than 50 square meters may choose between a barrier-free kiosk or a standard kiosk.
Additionally, devices installed with support funds must be used for at least two years. Failure to comply may result in the recovery of the subsidy, so recipients should be aware of this requirement.
Applications will be accepted from the 9th of this month until the budget is exhausted. Business owners may apply in person at the Suncheon City Small Business One-Stop Support Center or via email. After installation, selected business owners must submit a completion confirmation and receipts or other supporting documents. Upon on-site verification, the subsidy will be provided.
Required documents include an application form, a certificate or copy of business registration, sales documentation, and a product estimate.
