Yeoncheon County announced on March 5 that, following the confirmation of African Swine Fever (ASF) at a local pig farm on March 4, it has immediately implemented initial quarantine measures and is making every effort to prevent the spread of the disease.

View original imageThe farm in question received a positive ASF result after undergoing a detailed inspection following a suspected case report. Upon confirmation, the county promptly restricted access to the farm, issued a standstill order, and is rapidly carrying out culling and emergency quarantine measures at the affected farm.
Additionally, the county is intensifying movement restrictions and clinical monitoring for farms within the designated radius, and has set up control posts at farm entrances to disinfect livestock vehicles and personnel. Fence inspections are also being conducted in parallel to prevent further spread via wild boars.
Relevant department officials visited the affected farm to review preparations for quarantine and culling, and to ensure that all necessary actions are being properly implemented during the on-site response.

An official from Yeoncheon County stated, "We are mobilizing all available personnel and making every effort to contain the spread," and urged, "Livestock farms should strictly control the entry of outsiders and vehicles, and immediately report any suspected symptoms to quarantine authorities."
