Incheon City to Provide Up to 400,000 Won in Moving Expenses for Vulnerable Housing Groups
On March 5, Incheon City announced that it will provide moving expenses assistance to citizens living in substandard housing environments, such as jjokbang (tiny rooms), gosiwon (small dormitory-style housing), and semi-basement units.
The support is available to households that have completed contracts to move into public rental housing through the Housing Upgrading Support Project, as well as to households that have relocated to private rental housing by utilizing the Relocation Support Bogeumjari Loan for vulnerable groups.
Applications can be submitted within three months from the date of completing the move-in registration. Applicants should visit the local administrative welfare center that has jurisdiction over their new address to apply.
When applying, applicants must submit their identification card, the lease contract, and receipts to prove expenses such as moving costs and the purchase of daily necessities. Once approved, each household can receive up to 400,000 won for moving expenses and daily necessities.
From 2023 until last year, the city supported moves for a total of 2,081 households, helping vulnerable groups to relocate to stable housing and settle into the local community.
