Any personal mobility devices returned outside these designated zones will be towed immediately, and this measure will apply only to the Unjeong Jungang Station area.
Paju City explained that, after the opening of the GTX-A line between Unjeong Jungang and Seoul in December 2024, the increase in foot traffic at Unjeong Jungang Station has led to greater use of personal mobility devices. Combined with downhill road conditions and the indiscriminate abandonment of some devices, this has heightened concerns about safety accidents and increased inconvenience for pedestrians. Accordingly, the city has been promoting the implementation of the designated parking system since January this year and operating a guidance period to raise public awareness.
Going forward, in line with the implementation of the system, the city has installed additional on-road parking zones, strengthened user guidance by working with rental companies to indicate parking zones within their apps, and plans to continue conducting on-site inspections even after the system is in place.

Cho Chundong, Director of the Road Traffic Bureau, said, "Following the immediate towing measures implemented in May last year for devices left on traffic islands and in front of crosswalks, this expansion of the target area is a step to create a safer and more pleasant pedestrian environment," and added, "We ask for the active cooperation of all citizens so that a proper culture of use can take root."
