Paju City Secures 100 Units in Gyeonggi Province's First "Jeonse Rental for Newlyweds and Newborns"...Leading in Housing Welfare
Paju City Fully Launches "Paju-Type Basic Housing"
Monthly Interest Support of 350,000 Won on Jeonse Deposits for Newlyweds
Largest Supply Volume Among Basic Local Governments
Paju City announced on the 24th that it has secured 100 units in the "Existing Housing Jeonse Rental (Newlyweds·Newborn Type II)" program implemented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, becoming the first among basic local governments in Gyeonggi Province and nationwide to do so, and the largest in scale among local governments excluding metropolitan governments.
This program is designed to ease the initial housing cost burden by supplying existing homes to newlywed couples and households with newborns in the form of jeonse rentals, and by providing low-interest support on jeonse deposits.
Eligible applicants can use low-interest loans (annual rate of 2.2%) from the Housing and Urban Fund to borrow up to 192 million won per person for jeonse deposits, and can receive interest support of up to about 350,000 won per month. Through this, they can receive benefits when signing jeonse contracts for homes with a deposit of 600 million won or less.
Paju City is promoting this project as part of its "Basic Housing" policy to realize its municipal governance vision of a "Basic Society," and plans to operate it as the "Paju-Type Basic Housing (Rental Type)" model. The core values of Paju-Type Basic Housing are: guaranteeing citizens' basic right to housing; easing the burden on households in the initial settlement stage; and providing non-discriminatory housing opportunities regardless of income level or region.
The program targets newlywed couples and households with newborns that do not own a home, and applications are open to households with a monthly income of approximately 7.6 million won or less for a three-person household (about 9.1 million won or less for dual-income households).
