The presidential office said it hopes that South and North Korea will restore trust through communication, in connection with North Korean Workers' Party Vice Department Director Kim Yo-jong responding that she was "relieved" by Unification Minister Chung Dong-young's expression of regret over the "North Korea-bound drone infiltration incident."
On the 13th, an official from the presidential office said, "Actions that undermine the precious peace between the South and the North must be refrained from," adding, "We hope that the two Koreas will restore trust by easing tensions through mutual communication."
The Korean Central News Agency reported that in a statement released that day, Vice Department Director Kim said, "We think it is fortunate that South Korean Unification Minister Chung Dong-young officially expressed regret on the 10th over the anti-DPRK drone intrusion incident that occurred at the very beginning of the new year."
