Pocheon City Promotes Gyeonggi-do Caregiving SOS Project...Up to 1.2 Million Won in Support
Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it is promoting the "Gyeonggi-do Caregiving SOS Project" to ease the burden of caregiving costs on low-income seniors and their families.
This project is a system that provides financial support for caregiving costs to low-income seniors aged 65 or older who need caregiving services during hospitalization and treatment. It is expected to help substantially reduce the burden of care and support a return to daily life.
Those eligible are low-income seniors aged 65 or older residing in Gyeonggi-do who have been hospitalized in a hospital-level medical institution due to illness or injury and used caregiving services. Upon application, they can receive up to 1.2 million won per year in caregiving cost support. The project is expected to reduce the financial burden caused by sudden caregiving needs and help minimize gaps in family care.
An official from Pocheon City said, "Caregiving costs can become a heavy burden that threatens a household's livelihood. Through the Gyeonggi-do Caregiving SOS Project, we will support seniors and their families so that they can focus on treatment and recovery without financial worries."
