Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), the project implementer, and Seogwang Construction Industry Co., Ltd., the construction company, took part in the event, presenting a detailed blueprint of the project and holding a Q&A session with residents. Participants then moved to Site No. 3 within Misa Hangang Park, the location of the groundbreaking ceremony, where they staged a performance to announce the start of the project.
The project was first discussed in 2018, but its progress faced difficulties due to obstacles such as gas pipelines. Afterward, in 2023, a residents' briefing was held, and residents' opinions were collected on the plan to build the structure in the form of a pedestrian overpass, laying the groundwork for full-scale implementation.
Until now, although residents of Misa Riverside City have been geographically close to the Han River, their access to the Han River Park has been inconvenient because it was cut off by the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway. The pedestrian overpass to be installed will remove this barrier and serve as a passage connecting the city with the natural environment.
Once the overpass is completed, citizens will be able to use the Han River Park safely on foot or by bicycle. This goes beyond merely creating a physical passage; it is expected to turn the vast Han River Park into an everyday space for relaxation and provide an opportunity to improve the quality of life for local residents.

In addition to reviewing materials and construction methods, they conducted expert reviews to enhance the economic efficiency and safety of the design, and in 2025 they completed key administrative procedures, including permits for river and road occupancy.
In particular, with LH, the project implementer, covering the entire project cost of approximately 13.3 billion won, the city has been able to resolve a long-standing wish of the community without any fiscal burden on the municipal budget.

The pedestrian overpass to be installed in the area of 419 Seondong will be 105 meters in length and 5.6 meters in width (4 meters on the inner side), with completion targeted for 2027. LH and Seogwang Construction Industry Co., Ltd. finalized the contract in December last year and, with the groundbreaking on this day, have entered the full-scale construction schedule.
Mayor Lee Hyunjae said, "This Han River Connection Pedestrian Bridge is the fruit of residents' long wait and will become a symbolic piece of infrastructure that enhances the natural value of Hanam," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure safety and quality control until completion so that citizens of Misa Riverside City can use the Han River more safely and comfortably."
