The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that on the 11th it held the "Public-Private Joint Startup and Venture Policy Forum" to identify policy tasks in the startup and venture sector.

View original imageThis forum was convened to develop strategies for a major economic leap forward through the "restoration of the growth ladder for SMEs, ventures, and small business owners," together with private-sector experts such as former National Assembly Secretary General Lee Kwangjae, Korea Venture Business Association Chairman Song Byungjun, and Kosdaq Listed Companies Association Chairman Lee Donghoon. In particular, Minister Han Seongsuk applied to this meeting with external private experts, for the first time, the open discussion format she has introduced within the ministry as a "department that works like a startup."
The forum proceeded without a preset agenda, and participants freely discussed recently announced policies such as the "Startup for All Project" and "Local Startup," sharing their views on future policy tasks.

Minister Han said, "For key policies that the Ministry of SMEs and Startups is pursuing this year, such as the Startup for All Project and Local Startup, to take firm root in the field, support and cooperation from the private sector, including venture companies, private experts, investors, and local communities, are essential," adding, "Going forward, to restore the growth ladder, we will create regular opportunities to hear from the private sector not only in the startup and venture field, but also in areas such as SMEs and small business owners, fairness, and mutual growth."
