View original imageThis guidebook is a manual that systematically organizes, by sector, the welfare services provided by Dongducheon-si for seniors, and it has been prepared to support seniors in maintaining a stable daily life and enjoying a healthy old age.
The guidebook includes information on daily life support such as the Basic Pension, free meal services for low-income seniors, transportation support for the mobility-impaired, and support for health insurance premiums; care support such as Customized Care Services for Seniors, the Long-Term Care Insurance for the Elderly, the Universal Care Service, and the Accompanied Hospital Visit Safety Service for Seniors; health support such as support for dementia screening costs, support for joint surgery, blindness prevention programs, and bathing fee support for the oldest-old; projects that provide senior jobs and support social activities; and information on leisure facilities such as senior welfare centers, senior classes, and senior community centers.
In particular, the guidebook lists the eligibility criteria, usage procedures, and contact information for each program so that seniors can easily find and make use of the services they need.
The guidebook is available at the civil service office of Dongducheon City Hall, as well as at each neighborhood Administrative Welfare Center and public health center, and it can also be viewed in e-book format on the Dongducheon-si website.
Dongducheon Mayor Park Hyeongdeok said, "Seniors are a valuable asset to our society," adding, "I hope this Senior Welfare Guidebook will be of practical help to seniors, and we will continue to expand customized welfare policies centered on users."
