Busan Education Office Announces 552 Final Successful Candidates for Secondary School Teacher Posts
Including health, librarianship, counseling, and special education... women account for 64.3%
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced at 10:00 a.m. on the 5th, through its website, that 552 candidates have finally passed the 2026 school year competitive examination for the selection of public secondary school teacher appointment candidates.
The final successful candidates consist of 545 people in 32 subjects in the general recruitment track and 7 people in 5 subjects in the special recruitment track for persons with disabilities. They were selected from among 841 candidates who passed the first-round exam, after going through the second-round exam, which included preparation of teaching and learning plans, a demonstration lesson, an in-depth interview on aptitude for the teaching profession, and a practical skills test.
By gender, 35.7% (197 people) of those who passed are men and 64.3% (355 people) are women. Compared with the previous year, the proportion of men decreased by 1.5 percentage points, while the proportion of women increased by the same margin.
Individual scores can be checked from the 5th until the 12th on the city office of education’s “Online Recruitment for Teaching Staff (Secondary Appointment)” website. Successful candidates must submit the registration documents specified in the announcement by registered mail to the Teacher Personnel Division of the city office of education from the 5th to the 10th.
Newly appointed teachers are scheduled to complete a total of 38 hours of group training from the 9th to the 23rd. If their assigned schools are finalized during this period, they will also carry out on-site school work practice for two days, on the 12th and 13th.

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to assign them sequentially starting from March 1, in accordance with the teacher supply plan. The final successful candidates for private secondary school teachers, for whom part or all of the second-round exam was entrusted to the city office of education, will be announced on each school’s website according to the respective school schedules.
