Korea Polytechnics Graduates 9,769 Students... Advancing into Public Service and Major Corporations through Technical Education
Korea Polytechnics has produced a large number of graduates who have successfully made a fresh start through technical education.
On the 4th, Korea Polytechnics held a graduation ceremony and announced that a total of 9,769 graduates from 39 campuses nationwide are advancing into industrial workplaces. From young adults to middle-aged learners at turning points in their lives, they have redesigned their career paths based on technical skills.
According to the college, there have also been cases where technical education became a turning point in life, such as a young person who had worked at a hair salon and, after enrolling, went on to pass recruitment processes for both a large corporation and a public office. Won Sol (29) and Choi Sejong (27), who enrolled together in the two-year associate degree program in the Department of AI Electronics at the Gumi Campus, had previously worked at a hair salon as a hair designer and a trainee, respectively, before deciding to pursue technical education after much deliberation about their careers.

View original imageWon, who did not major in a related field before, obtained qualifications such as Craftsman Information Processing and Industrial Safety Engineer while in school, and ultimately passed the exam for Grade 9 local public official (broadcasting and communications track). Choi balanced his studies with student council activities and passed recruitment processes at several companies, including LS Cable, Kolon, and Hanwha Essential, and he is currently working at LS Cable.
There have also been mid- to late-career retraining success stories. Lee Dongho (39), who had worked for more than 10 years in the field of environmental safety management, enrolled in the Department of Industrial Facilities at the Chuncheon Campus and, within two years, obtained the Master Craftsman Energy Management qualification, as well as a total of nine national technical certifications, including Engineer Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Machinery and Industrial Engineer Hazardous Materials. He is now employed at the Samyang Foods Wonju factory, where he is in charge of core facilities.
Employment performance is also emerging. According to the 2025 university information disclosure data, the employment rate at Korea Polytechnics was 77.9%, and the first employment retention rate, which represents the percentage of employed graduates who remained in employment three months later, was recorded at 92.4%. The college explained that it is supporting learners of various ages and backgrounds so that they can receive vocational education tailored to different stages of their life cycle.

Lee Cheolsoo, Chairperson of Korea Polytechnics, encouraged the graduates, saying, "The skills and passion that students have acquired will become the driving force behind the rapid changes in the age of artificial intelligence and in industrial workplaces."
