This support was provided in response to a fire that occurred on the 20th of last month, which completely destroyed the group home's accommodation and resulted in the loss of both the children's living space and all essential items. Currently, the children and their guardian are living in a temporary one-room accommodation of approximately 23 square meters provided by Buk-gu District Office, and there is an urgent need to secure stable housing and restore their daily living foundation.
The funds will be used for basic support to ensure a safe living environment for the children as soon as possible, including moving costs for the temporary accommodation, the purchase of daily necessities, and emergency living expenses. In particular, the support is expected to provide practical help for the children's stability and recovery, as they are experiencing difficulties in their studies and daily lives due to the sudden change in environment caused by the fire.
The Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Gas Corporation continues to carry out social contribution activities tailored to the needs of the local community. This year alone, it has devoted efforts to supporting vulnerable groups with donations totaling approximately 149 million won, and has provided customized support in various areas, including: ▲support for low-income seniors and people with disabilities; ▲support for migrants, multicultural families, and single-parent families; ▲empowerment of children, adolescents, and young people preparing for independence; ▲environmental protection and carbon reduction; and ▲emergency support for disasters and accidents.
A representative from the Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Gas Corporation stated, "We hope our support will help the children who are struggling after the sudden fire regain stability as soon as possible," adding, "We will continue to actively respond to crises in the local community and fulfill our social responsibility as a public corporation."
