and Laying the Foundation for Citizen Participation
The Gyeongsan City Carbon Neutrality Support Center (Director Seo Jeongin) announced on December 31 that it recently held the ‘1st Gyeongsan City Carbon Neutrality Supporters’ Disbandment Ceremony’ at the Lee Jongwoo Science Library of Yeungnam University.
This ceremony, held on December 11, marked the conclusion of the supporters’ activities, sharing the achievements of the past year and laying the groundwork for next year’s citizen-participatory carbon neutrality initiatives and the spread of a carbon-neutral culture.
The first group of supporters consisted of 20 university students from Gyeongsan City. Since the launch ceremony in March this year, they have carried out a variety of activities, including producing team-based carbon neutrality promotional content, conducting an urban railway promotion campaign, operating a booth at the Jain Dano Festival, supporting joint housing participation in the carbon neutrality points program, and organizing a carbon neutrality capacity-building camp.
The ceremony proceeded with an opening and national pledge, a greeting from the center director, a review of 2025 activities, and the awarding of certificates. During the review, the achievements in carbon neutrality practices were shared, including team content production and citizen-targeted promotions and campaigns.
According to a satisfaction survey, the overall satisfaction score was 4.56 points, and the improvement in understanding of carbon neutrality was 4.71 points.
