Naver to Launch New Open Community "Lounge" Next Month
Recruiting Official Supporters: "Lounge Mates"
Real-Time Topic-Based Communication Linked with OpenTalk
Naver announced on December 26 that it will launch a new open community service called "Lounge" on January 28, which will allow users to quickly communicate on a variety of topics and easily keep up with the latest trends.
Lounge is an open community service that brings together the know-how Naver has accumulated over more than 20 years of operating various user-generated content (UGC) services such as Knowledge iN, blogs, and cafes.
Without requiring a separate sign-up, users can casually and conveniently interact with others on a range of topics including entertainment, sports, humor, and daily life. Each topic board is automatically connected to OpenTalk, so users can participate in conversations through posts, comments, and chats in a variety of ways.
Users can search for information on topics of interest and naturally access Lounge, where they can leave their opinions on related issues and engage in discussions with other users.
Naver plans to further strengthen the integration between Lounge and various other services such as OpenTalk, integrated search, Home Feed, Topic Feed, and Knowledge iN.
In preparation for the service launch, Naver will select a total of 500 official supporters, called "Lounge Mates," who will be active in Lounge for six months. Anyone can apply through the official Lounge blog until January 4.
