A total of 335 organizations, including central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions, participate to inspect their disaster response systems. Performance is evaluated by a central assessment team and rated as excellent, average, or insufficient.
On October 29, the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation conducted a real-time field and discussion-based training at the GS Gumi Combined Heat and Power Plant within the Gumi National Industrial Complex, simulating a complex disaster scenario involving simultaneous fire, chemical accidents, and sinkholes.
In this training, the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation received high marks for several reasons: the full participation of executives and employees, including the head of the organization; the active use of the disaster safety communication network (PS-LTE); close initial response collaboration with 13 related organizations; and, for the first time in the training’s history, the deployment of a humanoid robot at the disaster site.
