"Serious Accident Prevention"... Gijang County Holds 'One-Day Safety Training' for Employees
Strengthening Response Capabilities for the Serious Accident Punishment Act
Practical Training Focused on Safety Operations and On-Site Case Studies
Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on the 18th that it held a 'One-Day Training (Relay Lectures) for Employees' on the 17th to prevent serious accidents at county-affiliated workplaces and to strengthen industrial safety capabilities.
This training was organized to share the government's recent comprehensive labor safety measures and cases of serious accidents in the public sector, as well as to enhance awareness of safety and health obligations under the Serious Accident Punishment Act. It also focused on improving the practical expertise of employees responsible for industrial safety and health work.
The training covered practical topics that can be applied in actual work and on-site, including: ▲ an industrial safety and health guide for those in charge of work ▲ documentation methods for ensuring safety and health in subcontracted, service, and consignment projects ▲ confined space work program training ▲ case studies on safety and health management at subcontracted workplaces ▲ and examples of health measures at operational worksites.
In particular, the training placed special emphasis on the amendments to the 'Rules on Occupational Safety and Health Standards' that took effect on December 1, focusing on ensuring safety and preventing suffocation accidents during confined space work. The relevant departments were urged to strictly comply with safety regulations.
A Gijang County official stated, "In 2026, we will establish a safe workplace culture in which all departments and worksites-from managers and supervisors to field workers-make risk assessment a routine practice, proactively identify risk factors, and immediately implement improvements."
