"Kkumjarak," which opened its doors on this day, is the fifth youth free space in the city. Previously, since last year, the city has established youth free spaces in Daebu-dong (Bajirak), Wolpi-dong (Dalteurak), Ansan-dong (Byuldarak), and Banwol-dong (Bandarak).
The Hosu-dong "Kkumjarak" was created in response to citizens' demand for a place where urban youth, who frequently travel in the area, can stay before and after school. The city invested 362 million won to set it up on the second floor of Rodeo Town Building B, located at 154 Gwangdeok-daero, Danwon-gu.
This space is equipped with a single-person study zone, a PC and printer zone, a lounge-style cafeteria sofa zone, and indoor landscaping. Facilities such as a karaoke room, photo booth, and PlayStation have also been installed so that youth can enjoy learning, relaxation, and leisure activities.
The space is free for any youth to use. It is temporarily open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed every Monday and on official holidays.
The city also plans to open "Bonorak," the sixth youth free space, in Bono 2-dong on the 24th.
