National Heritage Administration Selects 21 Outstanding Regional Utilization Projects

"Iksan Night Tour," and More
Projects such as "A Secret Letter Sent by an Independence Fighter" in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, and "Iksan National Heritage Night Tour" in Iksan-si, Jeonbuk, have been selected as exemplary regional national heritage utilization projects.
The National Heritage Administration will hold the "2025 Outstanding Regional National Heritage Utilization Projects" awards ceremony at 2 p.m. on December 18 at the Jeontongnaraegwan in Dong-gu, Daejeon.
This initiative is an annual competition for local governments aimed at rediscovering the value of regional national heritage and developing it into cultural content. This year, 355 projects were supported across five categories: Lively National Heritage, Confucian Academies & Seowon, Night Tours, Traditional Mountain Temples, and Historic Houses & Clan Residences. Of these, 21 were selected as outstanding projects.
In the Lively National Heritage category, seven projects were selected, including the Jungnang-gu project utilizing the Mangwoo Historical and Cultural Space, "Neoreun Goeul Gwangju, National Heritage Lively Experience" in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, and "Seoak Village with the Spirit of Hwarang" in Gyeongju-si, Gyeongbuk Province.

In the Night Tour category, projects from Iksan-si, as well as Gunsan-si in Jeonbuk and Suwon-si in Gyeonggi Province, were chosen. In the Confucian Academies & Seowon category, four projects were selected, including "The Scholars' Flowers Have Bloomed!" from Yeongju-si, Gyeongbuk Province. In the Traditional Mountain Temples category, three projects were selected, including Muryangsa Temple in Buyeo, Chungnam Province. In the Historic Houses & Clan Residences category, four projects were selected, including one from Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi Province.
