Seocho District Council Urges "Reflection of Residents' Opinions" in Seoripul Public Housing District Designation
Resolution for Seoripul 1 and 2 Districts Adopted Unanimously
Seocho District Council (Chairman Ko Sunjae) has urged the relevant authorities to fully reflect residents' opinions in the process of designating public housing districts.
The council announced that on the 15th, during the 4th plenary session of the 2nd regular meeting of the 345th session, it unanimously adopted the "Resolution Urging Coexistence for Residents of Seoul Seoripul 1 and 2 Public Housing Districts in Seocho-gu, Seoul."

View original imageThis resolution, sponsored by Assemblyman Lee Hyungjun, states that development policies for the areas of Saejeongi, Sikyuchon, Songdong Village, and Umyeon-dong Catholic Church-which are scheduled to be designated as Seoul Seoripul 1 and 2 Public Housing Districts-should be pursued based on residents' consent and trust.
The resolution calls for the establishment of preservation measures to prevent the devaluation of the region during the creation of public housing districts. It also demands a review and correction of any plans and implementations lacking procedural legitimacy throughout the entire process of district designation and subsequent administrative procedures.

Assemblyman Lee Hyungjun emphasized, "While I agree with the policy objective of expanding public housing supply, the legitimacy of development must begin with residents' consent and trust."
The council plans to deliver the adopted resolution to the National Assembly, the Minister of the Interior and Safety, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and local councils across the country.
