However, from the new year, non-combustible and combustible waste will be separated to allow for recycling by type, and exclusive waste bags for small-scale businesses will be introduced to enable more efficient waste separation and disposal.
The standard bag capacities will remain the same as before: 20 liters, 50 liters, and 75 liters. Of these, the 20-liter and 50-liter bags will be supplied as non-combustible waste bags. Items that can be disposed of in these bags include non-combustible waste such as broken glass, ceramics, and small amounts of construction debris.
The 75-liter bag is designated exclusively for small-scale businesses that generate less than 300 kilograms of waste per day. It can be used for combustible waste such as waste synthetic fibers and waste synthetic resins. The prices for the bags remain unchanged: 1,200 won for 20 liters, 3,000 won for 50 liters, and 4,500 won for 75 liters.
Waste bags can be purchased at administrative welfare centers in each town and district. Existing bags already in possession can be used until they are depleted or refunded.
The city expects that this improvement in the waste disposal system will facilitate smooth separation and disposal of waste according to its type, increase resource recycling rates, and contribute to creating a clean and sustainable urban environment.
