Police Continue Coupang Search and Seizure for Fifth Day Over 'Personal Information Leak Incident'
The police are continuing their search and seizure operations at Coupang over the weekend in connection with the large-scale personal information leak incident.
The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that at around 9:30 a.m. on December 13, six investigators were dispatched to resume the search and seizure at Coupang's headquarters office in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
This search and seizure operation has been ongoing for five days since December 9. Due to the vast amount of digital data held by Coupang, it is reported that securing all the necessary materials is taking a considerable amount of time.
Based on the materials obtained, the police plan to track the whereabouts of a former employee of Chinese nationality who is suspected of leaking personal information. At the same time, they intend to closely examine whether there are any technical vulnerabilities in Coupang's internal management system.
