Police Search Psy's Agency on Suspicion of Medical Service Act Violation
The police have launched a compulsory investigation into singer Psy, who is suspected of having a third party receive psychotropic drugs on his behalf.
On December 11, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul announced that it had recently conducted a search and seizure of Psy's agency office and vehicle on suspicion of violating the Medical Service Act.
Psy is suspected of having his manager and other third parties pick up prescriptions for the psychotropic drugs Xanax and Stilnox from a university hospital in Seoul without undergoing in-person medical consultations since 2022.
Xanax and Stilnox are psychotropic drugs used to treat sleep and anxiety disorders, as well as depression, and cannot be prescribed without an in-person consultation.
In August, the police booked both Psy and Professor A, who prescribed the drugs at the university hospital, as suspects and have been investigating the case.
