Kiwoon Kim, Former Democratic Party Uichang District Chairman, Announces Candidacy for Changwon Mayor
Kiwoon Kim, former chairman of the Democratic Party's Uichang District Committee in Changwon, Gyeongnam, has announced his candidacy for the Changwon Special Mayor election to be held next year.
On December 11, Kim held a press conference at the city hall press center, stating, "In response to the wishes of citizens who want Changwon to rise beyond being a manufacturing mecca and become a capital of future industries, I intend to boldly run as a change-maker to open a new era for Changwon in the upcoming mayoral election."
He said, "A city is built with technology and completed by its people," and went on to announce his key pledges, promising, "I will open the future of Changwon together with its citizens."

He also promised: ▲ Job creation, urban regeneration, and the establishment of living infrastructure ▲ Building an integrated care platform ▲ Promoting the "100,000+ Youth Employment Project" ▲ Establishing the Changwon Future Education Promotion Institute ▲ Realizing a green future city where nature and technology coexist ▲ Introducing an AI administrative system, big data-based policy decisions, an online citizen hall, and Resident Participatory Budgeting 2.0.
Kim emphasized, "Changwon is a city that began at the heart of industry," and added, "Now, it must leap forward to become a city that designs the future of South Korea."
