The Severance Mind Band successfully concluded its inaugural concert on the afternoon of the 9th at Yonsei University Auditorium.

According to Yonsei Medical Center on December 10, the Min Yoongi Treatment Center at Severance Hospital, built with a 5 billion won donation from BTS Suga (real name Min Yoongi) in September, operates an arts-integrated therapy program that combines treatment with learning to play and perform musical instruments. The program aims to help children with autism spectrum disorder achieve social and economic independence.

The music-based group therapy program, in which children choose their preferred instruments, express their intentions, and participate in ensemble performances, helps them gain experience in order and communication. This approach has proven effective for children who have difficulty with verbal communication.

The children who participated for the first time in the music-based therapy program at the Min Yoongi Treatment Center formed a band and prepared for several months since the hot summer. Yesterday, they showcased the results of their practice with a performance at the 1,600-seat Yonsei University Auditorium.

On this day, the children performed a variety of percussion instruments, as well as saxophone, clarinet, and guitar, and also sang. They presented music such as Leopold Mozart's "Toy Symphony," Bicycle Riding Landscape's "To You, From Me," and Loveholics' "Butterfly" to the audience.

The concert, hosted by announcer Kim Iljung, began with a congratulatory video from Suga. In the video, Suga called out each child's name and offered warm encouragement ahead of their performance.

Prominent musicians also attended, including Dream With Ensemble, the nation’s first professional music group for people with developmental disabilities, as well as guitarist Park Shinwon, who has performed live with many idol groups including BTS.

In his remarks on stage, Director Chun Geuna said, "When we first started this project, I never imagined a day like today would come. Throughout the preparation process, I witnessed the miracle of generosity begetting more generosity." He added, "Through the Mind Program and concert rehearsals, the children developed patience and learned the power of waiting and coordinating with others." He went on to say, "I am deeply grateful to BTS Suga, who made all of this possible."

One audience member said, "Watching this concert, I laughed and cried. It was a moving experience that made me forget the hardships of daily life."

Meanwhile, all proceeds from ticket sales and other sources will be donated to the Min Yoongi Treatment Center.
