1,250 Boxes of Kimchi Delivered to Elderly Living Alone and Social Welfare Facilities
Yeosu City, South Jeolla Province, announced that Hyangilam, Bomun Welfare Association, and Kumho P&B Chemical Co., Ltd. held the 2025 Charity Sharing Kimchi Making Festival on the 9th, donating 1,250 boxes of kimchi worth 52 million won to elderly residents living alone and social welfare facilities in the city.
The event took place at Hayan Yeonkkot in Uduri, Dolsan-eup. Hyangilam (Chief Monk Yeonkyu) and Bomun Welfare Association (Chairman Yeonkyu) contributed 50 million won, while Kumho P&B Chemical Co., Ltd. donated 2 million won, furthering the spirit of sharing and warmth in the local community.

Monk Yeonkyu stated, "When the community comes together, we can create meaningful change," adding, "We will continue to carry out sharing activities that can reach neighbors in need in practical ways."
A city official commented, "Local sharing activities play a meaningful role in supporting vulnerable groups," and added, "We will continue to identify and address areas in need to eliminate welfare blind spots and strengthen care support."
