Gumi City and SR Co. to Launch Full Operation of "SRT Happy Dream Car"

Enhancing Mobility for Transportation-Vulnerable Groups
Expanding Cooperation for Rural Coexistence and Regional Economic Revitalization

On December 9, Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province signed a business agreement with SRT operator Korea National Railway Co., Ltd. (acting CEO Shim Youngjoo) to support transportation-vulnerable groups, promote rural coexistence, and revitalize the regional economy through the operation of the "SRT Happy Dream Car."


The "SRT Happy Dream Car" is a mobility support service designed to improve access to advanced medical institutions in the Seoul metropolitan area. Gumi City expects that the introduction of this vehicle will enhance citizens' mobility convenience and access to care services.

Through this agreement, Gumi City will receive the following support from Korea National Railway Co., Ltd.: 37 million won for the purchase of the SRT Happy Dream Car; 7.1 million won for the development of new products to increase farm income using the Rural Coexistence Cooperation Fund; 19.8 million won in product support through the Small and Medium Business Technology Market; and more than 200 children's environmental education books.


Based on this agreement, the two organizations plan to continue promoting joint projects aimed at expanding community participation and revitalizing the local economy.


Gumi City Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "I hope this agreement will not only improve mobility conditions for transportation-vulnerable groups but also lead to regional coexistence and economic revitalization. I also look forward to seeing the expertise and experience of the railway operator expand into various regional cooperation projects."


Shim Youngjoo, acting CEO of Korea National Railway Co., Ltd., commented, "I hope the SRT Happy Dream Car will help guarantee mobility rights and improve the quality of life for transportation-vulnerable groups in Gumi City. With this agreement as a starting point, we will work together with Gumi City for sustainable regional development."
