Its purpose is to establish the basic direction for converting a building, which is scheduled to be donated to the city by the private park developer, into a children's complex cultural facility.
The main tasks include: ▲ setting the target age groups and developing differentiated content strategies for each age group; ▲ establishing plans for space layout and facilities; ▲ preparing a step-by-step implementation roadmap for the opening of the facility; and ▲ deriving functional configurations and operational models that reflect local characteristics.
The building that will house the children's complex cultural facility is located at 197, Gyeongan-ro (Tanbeol-dong) and has a total area of 15,455.02 square meters, spanning from two basement levels to four floors above ground. The interior is planned to include a play area for infants and toddlers, experiential facilities for children, an indoor adventure zone, a comprehensive childcare support center (with a toy rental room and program room), a children's and social welfare foodservice management support center (with a cooking class), seminar rooms, multipurpose rooms, counseling rooms, a book cafe, and a cafeteria, all designed to provide diverse and systematic functions tailored to children's developmental stages.
During the interim report meeting, the detailed progress and findings of the research project were shared. Key topics included: ▲ a basic status survey; ▲ results of domestic and international case studies and surveys; ▲ the basic direction for facility construction; ▲ space planning for each floor; and ▲ a comparative analysis of future operation methods. Representatives from child care institutions and experts also attended to offer suggestions for improvement. The city plans to review and incorporate these opinions into the final research results, which are scheduled for release in January 2026.
