Notably, this was the first event held outside Cheongun-myeon since the opening of the Video Media Center, allowing even more local residents to participate and adding to its significance.
The event began with a movie OST classical performance by Avec Ensemble. Five familiar pieces were performed: "Merry-Go-Round of Life" from "Howl's Moving Castle," "Por Una Cabeza" from "Scent of a Woman," "To You, From Me" from "The Classic," "Love Theme" from "Cinema Paradiso," and "Butterfly" from "Take Off." These selections resonated deeply with the audience. The emotional atmosphere of the performance heightened anticipation for the upcoming award ceremony and special lecture.
The "2025 Yangpyeong Village Media Video Contest" award ceremony followed. This year, 61 entries showcasing the attractions, festivals, and history of Yangpyeong were submitted, and 42 works were selected as winners.
In the feature film category, the Grand Prize went to "Memories Beyond Recollection" by Cinebrick, with a prize of 3 million won. In the short film category, Kyuin Kim received the Grand Prize for "A Step Toward the Future," earning 1.5 million won. In addition, two Silver Prizes and five Bronze Prizes were awarded in both the feature and short film categories, along with six Honorable Mentions and twenty Finalist awards. The winning works will be released sequentially through the Yangpyeong County Video Media Center YouTube channel.
