Hyundai Glovis Rugby Team Marks 10th Anniversary... "Expanding the Base of Rugby"
Hyundai Glovis announced on December 8 that its rugby team has reached its 10th anniversary since its founding.
On December 3, Hyundai Glovis held the "Hyundai Glovis Rugby Team 10th Anniversary Ceremony" in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, sharing the achievements of the team, which has consistently contributed to the development and expansion of rugby in Korea since its launch in 2015.
The event was attended by the Hyundai Glovis rugby team players and staff, officials from the Korea Rugby Union, as well as retired players who have led the team over the past 10 years, adding further significance to the occasion.
Hyundai Glovis established the rugby team in 2015 to support rugby, a less popular sport, aiming to sustain the sport in Korea and enhance its competitiveness. Since then, the team has dominated major leagues and national tournaments, and is credited with elevating the competitiveness of Korean corporate rugby to a new level.
Starting with its first victory in the Korean Rugby League in 2018, the Hyundai Glovis rugby team went on to win the Korean Rugby Championship in 2020, consecutively conquering the major corporate leagues. In 2023, the team secured the Korea Super Rugby League title and, for the first time since its founding, won a gold medal at the National Sports Festival, establishing itself as the strongest team on the national stage. The team continued its impressive record by winning the regular league in 2024 and the Chungmu Cup National Tournament in 2025, maintaining top-tier performance throughout the past decade.

At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, player Jung Yeonsik scored Korea's first-ever Olympic rugby points, and in 2023, Fijian-born player Imosi Ravati joined the team and was selected as Korea's first foreign national team member in 2025, opening a new chapter for Korean rugby.
From its inception, the Hyundai Glovis rugby team has aimed to support amateur sports and the long-term growth of Korean rugby. The team has conducted overseas training in rugby-advanced countries such as New Zealand and Japan, and invited local coaches to Korea to learn advanced rugby techniques. In addition, the team has developed exclusive beverages for its players and provided various forms of support to enhance player performance.
