Iksan City to Host "Meongryongi Game" Event at Prison Set on December 6
As Part of the Pet-Friendly Tourism City Initiative
Iksan City and the Iksan Culture & Tourism Foundation will hold the "2025 Iksan Companion Animal Festival - Meongryongi Game Season 2" event at the Iksan Prison Set on December 6.
According to the city on December 5, this event is being organized as part of the initiative to create a pet-friendly tourism city. A variety of programs will take place against the unique backdrop of the prison set, offering participants a special day.
In particular, this year marks the second edition of the Meongryongi Game following last year's inaugural event. The festival will feature a unique "Companion Animal Kimchi-Making Experience" using local agricultural products. Guardians and their pets will mix ingredients together to make kimchi, with sessions held once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Additionally, various programs will be available throughout the venue for both pet owners and non-owners, including a "Tea Time Tea Ceremony Experience" where participants can make and enjoy healthy tea with their pets, a "Confession Bracelet & Keyring Making" activity themed around Iksan, the city of gemstones, and a tofu pet food making workshop.
There will also be plenty of side events such as an agility course experience, photo booths, and a music concert, providing a wide range of entertainment for visitors to the festival.

A city official stated, "This program is a unique experiential festival that combines local resources with spatial content, unique to Iksan. We will continue to develop content that both companion animals and their guardians can enjoy together, as we work to establish Iksan as a pet-friendly tourism city."
