I hoped that not only stray dogs but also those raising ordinary dogs could come here, let their pets run freely, and have proper funeral services when their pets cross the rainbow bridge." He continued, "Banryo Maru, a facility that covers everything for companion animals from adoption to play, education, and even funeral services-everything from A to Z-has been established here in Yeoju. I am very glad to hear that the companion animal funeral facility has been completed and will begin operations in January."
He added, "Gyeonggi Province is taking proactive measures in various fields such as the climate crisis and social economy, and we are also leading the way in animal welfare. I hope that the residents of the province recognize this intention and that everyone can live happily with their 'dogs.'"
Governor Kim inspected the Banryo Maru resident convenience facilities, including the dog sports field and playground, which were completed in July this year, and observed an agility training session for dogs. He also participated in a special lecture on dog grooming and toured the Companion Animal Industry Exhibition Hall, which opened in September this year.
The exhibition hall features a permanent display to support market access for small and startup companies in Gyeonggi Province's companion animal industry, promoting their products and brands. Finally, Governor Kim held a roundtable discussion with trainees, adopters, volunteers, and representatives of small businesses in the companion animal industry related to Banryo Maru, listening to their opinions.
