Uijeongbu City Selected as "Best Institution" in Gyeonggi Province's 2025 Comprehensive Land Information Assessment
Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) has been selected as the "Best Institution" among 31 cities and counties in the province, achieving balanced results across all seven categories in the "2025 Comprehensive Land Information Assessment" conducted by Gyeonggi Province.
This assessment was carried out to evaluate the level of land administration in local governments within the province and to strengthen the foundation for protecting citizens' property rights and managing land information efficiently. It comprehensively reviewed administrative capabilities in all areas of land information, including cadastral management, spatial information, cadastral resurvey, address information, and land policy.
In particular, the city was highly rated for its use of drone footage and aerial photographs to overlay and compare with cadastral records in the fields of cadastral management and spatial information, thereby improving the accuracy of cadastral information and systematically updating cadastral maps. Through these efforts, Uijeongbu City significantly reduced land boundary errors and enhanced the reliability of public data.
In the area of cadastral resurvey, the city achieved prompt and accurate project execution through close collaboration with related agencies. These efforts made a tangible contribution to protecting citizens' property rights and preventing boundary disputes, and the establishment of a reliable cadastral information system for citizens was a key factor in the evaluation.
In the address information sector, the city assigned new road names such as "Art Road" and "Music Road" to frequently used forest paths and roads near libraries, making it easier for citizens to find their destinations. This initiative not only improved address accessibility but also positively contributed to enhancing the city's image as a place where culture and the arts coexist.
Additionally, in the fields of land policy and real estate, the city introduced a "one-stop land transaction permit application service," greatly improving convenience for civil petitioners. Furthermore, by launching the "Safe Jeonse" website, the city strengthened the protection of property rights for both landlords and tenants and worked to create a safe residential environment for citizens.
As a result of these efforts, the city received an institutional commendation, while three public officials and one civilian who contributed were also individually recognized. Building on this achievement, the city plans to further enhance the quality of land information administration and accelerate the realization of advanced administrative practices.
